Sophie was a true performer tonight. She plays an acoustic guitar and when she arrived at the recital, she was told that she would be playing her teacher's guitar...then, when she got on stage, it was changed to an electrified acoustic guitar (like the one below)...it was LOUD! Then, just as they were doing a soundcheck, the person who was accompanying her told her to remove the capo. She had never played the song without the capo-on an electric guitar-and on someone else's guitar!
She had major butterflies, but she did well! It was a HUGE boost of self-confidence!

She did really well! It was organized sort of like a dance recital without a program, director, or sense of time! It was crazy and just messy, but it was also awesome!
We heard about 40 kids play some amazing guitar! Sophie was one of the few "solos" and she was one of 3 girls. The school (aka "School of Rock") is pretty heavy on the electric guitar and bass!
Whoo Hoo! Congratulations, Sophie!
