Sophie is home!

Sophie had a wonderful time and most of all, gained an appreciation for our nation's capitol.

She had many stories of her feet freezing and snow drifts being "above every one's head." Her favorite stories were the places they had dinner each night and Lincoln's assassination!

My favorite story is when she told us that she left the hotel housekeeper a "tip." We cautiously asked, "What did you leave her and why?" She said that everyday the housekeeper came in and cleaned the room and made it so nice for when they returned at the end of every day. She said that she left a note that said, "Thank you so much for cleaning my room everyday. You did a great job! I wish that I could give you more money, but this is all I have besides a $20." She left the housekeeper $3.95. I guess $3.95 and a sweet note is really priceless.

We've always taught her to tip well. She wished that she had a $5 or $10. She thought the $20 was too much (and besides, she needed money for the trip home!).

Too funny!

Good time for an update...

We wanted to let everyone know that we have not recovered from the Black and Gold fever and will not recover for a while.

Other important things going on:

1. Sophie leaves for Washington, DC this weekend. Despite the winter storms, her trip is a go!

Please wish her well. Lynn and I plan on painting her room while she is away!

2. We have a new family member. I've tried to take pictures of the 4 weenies together...it is a difficult task!

Her name is "Flo." She is a rescue. 3 years old. A doll! Fits right in!

Just touching base and wishing everyone well!

Can't forget the kitty boys!
